Covid-19: country registers seven more deaths and 45 cases in the last 24 hours

The country registered seven more deaths per covid-19, in the last 24 hours, 45 new infections and recovered 204 patients, informed this Wednesday the Secretary of State for Public Health.

Franco Mufinda said that three deaths were registered in Lunda Norte province, one in Luanda, the same number in the regions of Huambo, Malanje and Zaire, all male victims being a Chinese citizen and six Angolans between the ages of 44 and 70.

In terms of cases, 36 cases were reported in Luanda, four in Lunda Norte, two in Bié, the same number in Cabinda and one in Lunda Sul, aged 7 to 76, 30 male and 15 female.

"Fortunately, we were able to recover 204 people, 117 in Luanda, 30 in Cunene, 23 in Moxico, 16 in Huambo, 12 in Benguela, five in Lunda Sul and one in Uíge, and the ages range from 1 to 94," said Franco Mufinda.

With data from the last 24 hours, Angola totaled 16,407 positive cases, 379 deaths, 9194 recovered and 6834 active, of which six were in critical condition, five were severe, 81 moderate, 137 mild and 6605 asymptomatic, with treatment centers following 204 patients.

In the last 24 hours, the laboratories processed 1596 samples, representing a daily positivity rate of 2.8 percent, pointing the cumulative to date to the processing of 277,377 samples, with 16,407 positive, referring to a cumulative positivity rate of 5.9 percent.

The ruler informed that this Wednesday 1217 elements were tested, being 168 men and 149 women, of which 186 people are reactive, which represents an exposure rate of 15.2 percent, but the confirmation test found no positive cases.

The Secretary of State for Public Health also announced that it "greatly improved" the delivery time for RT-PCR test results for travelers to 24 hours.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,636,687 deaths from more than 73.4 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
