The epidemiological data presented by the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, show that of the total number of cases, between 8 and 81 years, 37 were registered in Luanda, 28 in Cabinda, 15 in Lunda Norte, four in Benguela, two in Lunda Sul and the same number in Namibe and one in Kwanza Sul.
The new coronaviruses are 65 male and 24 female.
In the last 24 hours a 62-year-old Angolan citizen died in Zaire province.
Franco Mufinda stressed that 26 people were also considered recovered, 17 of them in Benguela, seven in Huambo and two in Luanda.
With the latest data, Angola has 16,277 positive cases, 372 deaths, 8924 data as recovered and 6981 active, of which six in critical condition, seven with severity, 78 moderate, 139 mild and 6751 asymptomatic, with 229 patients being followed up at treatment centers.
At the laboratory level, 2904 samples were processed in the last 24 hours, 89 of which were positive, giving a daily positivity rate of 3 per cent, while the cumulative points to 283,480 samples processed to date, with a total of 16,277 with positive results, referring to a cumulative positivity rate of 6 per cent.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 1,612,297 deaths from more than 72.1 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
