Jomo Fortunato, who was speaking at the end of year greetings ceremony, referred with special emphasis to the project of resuscitation of houses of culture, called "Somos Angola, Somos Cultura", which will always have a cycle of debates and integrated artistic training, including the imitation rooms of the classics of popular music.

"Another project is to increase cultural events, we have a project that is" Somos Angola, Somos Cultura ", which I think is a project that will embody the privatization of the cultural sector, that is, the resuscitation of cultural spaces, constituting small companies ", he stressed.

These spaces, said the minister, will not only be for cultural enjoyment, but also for training, "in close connection with cultural action".

"The idea is to join our cultural tradition to the advances of modern technologies in the communicational sphere and we have to dialogue with the world. It is important that Angola is on the big international agendas, it is clear that in a post-covid situation", he stressed.

"There is an international agenda of concerts, there is an international agenda of theater, music, cinema and why Angola cannot be there, it has to be there, we have to create an observatory with these cultural events to improve the capacity, the image of Angola in the world ", he added.

The holder of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment stressed that the agenda for 2021 is "very busy" in these three sectors, so it is necessary to find points of contact between these three bodies, so that the projects go smoothly.

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the ceremony, Jomo Fortunato said that the ministry will continue its solidarity action with artists who are sick, in an action articulated with the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC) and the National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP).

The minister stressed that artists who have difficulties were supported, many of whom are ill, with the idea "preventing these sudden deaths that happened to Carlos Burity, Waldemar Bastos, Givago".

"But I am not just focused on singers and composers. It is an action that extends to all artists, visual artists, cinema, dance, etc.", he said.

According to the minister, the idea is to create structures that are solid and functional and not sporadic actions, with multisectoral work, "with other ministerial departments that can contribute to the social safeguard of artists so that they have dignity".

The Executive will also put the draft law on National Languages into public discussion, to gather consensus and contributions to this "important diploma of identity", informed the minister.

Jomo Fortunato said that the future legislative diploma also aims to safeguard the national linguistic heritage.

The preparation of the application dossier for the site of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale as a World Heritage Site is also part of the set of issues on the agenda for 2021.
