Commissioner Francisco Massota - accused of fraud and misconduct - was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. The Commissioner was accused of allegedly charging more than 26 million kwanzas to more than 100 people to enter the police.

César Magalhães:

According to the sentence, agent Elizandra Tomás, also accused in the case, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Agent Marcia Crispim, also allegedly involved in the scheme, was sentenced to one year in jail for the crime of misconduct.

The Commissioner and Elizandra Tomas were also fired from the National Police and forced to reimburse all those targeted in the scheme, writes the Novo Jornal.

The others involved in this case - Intendant Veloso Francisco Moisés, Deputy Inspector Elsa Maria Manuel Neho, Deputy Inspector Belchior Kssendala Venda - were eventually acquitted of the crimes alleged against him.

The defense of the Commissioner and Elizandra Tomás has already appealed the sentence, which has already been accepted. The defendants will remain free until the Supreme Military Court rules on the document presented.
