President of Petro de Luanda defends games behind closed doors

The chairman of the board of Petro de Luanda, Tomás Faria, defended the holding of the games of the national football championship behind closed doors, as a result of the suspension of sports competitions by the Government due to Covid-19.

The official argues that Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, and Sagrada Esperança, teams that will meet on Tuesday the opponents of the African football league's group stage, need to prepare and win the shooting, so defends the amendment of the Presidential Decree.

The most important competition on the African continent at club level starts in February 2022.

The temporary measures applied by the Government due to the growing number of cases of infection by the coronavirus, responsible for the covid-19 pandemic, will be in force until January 15, 2022.

Angola registered, in the last 24 hours, 1945 new cases, four deaths and the recovery of 10 patients, totaling 73,697 confirmed cases, of which 64,026 recovered, 1754 deaths and 7918 active. Of the actives, two are critical, 18 severe, 55 moderate, 92 mild and 7751 asymptomatic.
