Luanda will host the 8th edition of the African Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Fighters from all over the continent have a meeting scheduled at the Kilamba Multiusos pavilion on the 19th and 20th of February next year.

Jaron Hampton:

The information was disclosed by the president of the Angolan sport federation, Luís John, to Angop. According to the official, the specifications for the event – requested by the Ministry of Youth and Sports – will have already been presented.

Angola will organize the fighting competition at the invitation of the African Confederation, being the first time that the country hosts such an event. The African Jiu-Jitsu Championship will include both versions of the sport: traditional and Brazilian.

The last championship played took place in South Africa, in 2017. As a competitor, Angola was present in the 2013 and 2015 editions.

For the event in Luanda, 12 nations from the African continent are expected to participate.
