‘Pearls of Africa’ head to Spain to participate in the World Handball Championship

The 'Pearls of Africa' are heading this Thursday to Spain to kick off the group stage of the World Cup in Handball. The debut game of the senior women's national team, which should land this Thursday afternoon in Castellon, takes place on Friday against France.

The national team arrives in Spain after having been in Hungary to carry out a stage of preparation for the championship. During the internship, the Angolans achieved very satisfactory results, with emphasis on the victory against the Japanese team by 33-26.

According to Jornal de Angola, the 'Pearls of Africa' also beat Alba Sport, a team from the Hungarian First League, by 30-28.

The national coach Filipe Cruz, cited by Jornal de Angola, considered that the preparation stage was very fruitful.

After the satisfactory results in preparation for the competition, Angola heads to Spain a day before its first game in the championship: the national team will debut on Friday against the French team.

The opening game of the national team is scheduled for 5 pm.

The Angolans are part of Group A, which is made up of the national teams of Slovenia and Montenegro.

In the second game, Angola will face Montenegro, and their last match in the group stage will take place against Slovenia.
