In addition to the Angolan, among the choices made by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to referee the competition, there are referees from Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, Rwanda, South Africa, Benin and Mauritius, writes Angop.

It should be recalled that António Bernardo was recently highlighted at the Afrobasket 2021, which took place in Rwanda. In the competition, the Angolan referee whistled seven games, including the final of the competition, played between Tunisia and Côte d'Ivoire.

António Bernardo entered the refereeing world in 1993. In 1998, he rose to the national category and in 2005 he became an international referee.

The first phase of access to the 2023 Asian Senior Men's Basketball World Cup will take place in Benguela, from 26 to 28 November, at the Acacias Rubra Arena pavilion, where 12 matches will be played.

Cape Verde, Nigeria, Uganda and Mali are part of series A, while Angola, Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire and the Central African Republic are part of series C.
