Fundação Arte e Cultura brings together children from shelters for a Christmas dinner

On the 24th of December, the Fundação Arte e Cultura will gather children from four shelters for a Christmas dinner at its premises (Ilha de Luanda).

:

Christmas dinner is already a tradition at Fundação Arte e Cultura. With the exception of last year, on behalf of covid-19, the Foundation has held this solidarity party every year.

In a statement sent to VerAngola, the organization recalls that many of these children go to shelters thanks to the Foundation's Music in the Street Project, whose purpose is to persuade children to leave the streets.

The event will include two moments, the first being composed of cultural activities with artists from the Angolan market and cultural groups from the respective centres, at 6 pm. The second moment will be dinner, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and dozens of volunteers are already mobilized to serve the children.

The event will take place at the Wyza Anfiteatro auditorium of the Art and Culture Foundation, on Ilha de Luanda, next to School 1205, stop at Casa Lisboa.

Christmas with the Community will include underprivileged families

Different from what will happen on the 24th, on the 22nd of December, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Art and Culture Foundation will hold Christmas with the Community, an initiative that aims to provide children and families with an atmosphere of celebration and joy Christmas, with the distribution of gifts to street children in the Ponta sector and beyond.

The event, which will consist of a walk through the neighborhood with animations and the delivery of small gifts to children, will culminate with photo sessions with Santa Claus,
in a setting that will be set up on purpose at Largo da Casas Novas, on the island of Luanda.

It should be remembered that Fundação Arte e Cultura focuses on the social inclusion of families in situations of vulnerability and risk and on supporting Angolan arts and culture. It has two art training schools, precisely the School of Music and Art. It is an integral part of the Menomadin Foundation, an international impact investing and philanthropy organization, and also represents, in Angola, the commitment to corporate social responsibility of the Mitrelli Group, the Foundation's main sponsor.
