According to the secretary general of the Union of Nursing Technicians of Luanda, António Afonso Kileba, the members decided in assembly to return to strike because the moratoriums given to the Government to solve the problems had ended.
Kileba, speaking to Angolan public radio, stressed that the problems were not resolved and the professionals "seemed to resort to the strike", having decreed its start at 7:00 am on Monday, in Luanda province, in hospitals, health centers and posts.
The union leader guaranteed that the minimum services required by law are guaranteed, namely assistance in emergency rooms, delivery rooms, intensive care, but with teams reduced to 50 percent.
The list of claims has as its points the opening of the internal public examination or the adequacy of the categories of nursing professionals, the creation of better working conditions in all health units, replacement of salary rates, withdrawal of financial compensation, food and subsidy for transport.
