Auction to privatize BCI will take place next Friday

The Angola Debt and Stock Exchange (Bodiva) announced that the auction to privatize the Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI) will take place next Friday, the 17th of December.

:

"The Angolan Debt and Stock Exchange, by way of this note, announces that the first auction will be held on the 17th of December of this year, at 9:30 am, for the privatization of the assets of the BCI State", may read a note available on the Bodiva website.

The statement also states that the auction will be a "special session" that will be carried out by the electronic auction platform and that "will have an initial duration of 30 minutes", which may be followed by the Bodiva website.

The note also emphasizes that the "auction is the culminating step of the privatization process of BCI, within the scope of Propriv, and its objective is to discover the best offer and the (previously qualified) winning candidate".

BCI's privatization procedure began with 16 non-binding proposals from national and foreign interested parties, with the responsible committee having found two candidates that are going to be auctioned.

BCI is a public bank, established in 1991 and is present in all provinces of the country with 82 branches and 31 service stations.
