The meeting, at Palácio da Cidadela, is organized this year by Portugal, hosted by the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ), says the CPLP in a note published on its official website.

The technical preparation work for the meeting began on November 12th, with the Youth Commission meeting.

On Wednesday the meeting of the Sports Commission and the meeting of the General Directors of Youth and Sports took place.

On the sidelines of this meeting of CPLP ministers, the CPLP Young Creators Biennial is on display at Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, also in Cascais and until Saturday, under the theme "Uma questão de Língua", organized by IPDJ, in partnership with Cascais City Council.

This edition includes an exhibition of works by young creators, artistic residencies, training workshops, conversations and a guided tour of the historic center of Cascais, "animated by different artistic manifestations and invited mentors", says the CPLP in a statement.

Adopted by the 1st Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth and Sport of the CPLP held in Portugal in 1996, the Young Creators Biennial takes place every two years in one of the community's member countries.

Parallel to the meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports, the II CPLP Youth Parliament is also taking place, which began work on Wednesday at the Assembly of the Republic, in Lisbon.

The 1st Youth Parliament of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) was held in São Tomé and Príncipe, under the motto "Violence in Dating", included in the "2019 - CPLP Year for Youth" Activity Plan.

The event aimed to create a platform to facilitate unity among CPLP young people, raise awareness of their rights and duties guaranteed by the Youth Charter, promote democratic debate, encourage cooperation and the transmission of knowledge and persuade States members to put into practice internally the resolutions approved in parliament, the organization said at the time.

The II Youth Parliament will present its conclusions to the CPLP Ministers of Youth and Sports on Friday, the 15th.
