The official made it known that the future factory will not only produce silica manganese, but also ferrosilicon and ferromanganese, with the possibility of also producing fertilizers and pig iron.
"A thousand jobs will be created by the second half of 2025, the time when it starts the industrial unit which will produce silica manganese, ferrosilicon and ferromanganese, and may also move towards fertilizers and pig iron", said Hélder Milagre, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, to which VerAngola had access.
Subsequently, the factory will also be able to invest in the production of ammonia and cement.
"The unit will also be able to produce, in subsequent phases, ammonia and cement, according to explanations from Tang Shifu, responsible for the contract", who also stated that "the equipment for the first phase of the project is already on site and being assembled".
It is worth noting that the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, accompanied by the governor of Cuanza Norte, João Diogo Gaspar, carried out, this Monday, a visit to the aforementioned factory, which is the result of a "partnership between the Angolan company MN Kitota, which explores manganese in the town of Kitota (Malanje), and the Chinese ST New Materials Lda".
In addition to the visit to the future factory, this Monday, the holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio, also visited the Kwanza Norte Fuel Installations (ICKN), also located in Lucala.
These visits are part of the two-day workday that Diamantino Azevedo carries out in that province.
The minister's agenda in Cuanza Norte also includes, for this Tuesday, the holding of a workshop that will "address the situation of the mining industry and the marketing of petroleum derivatives in the province", points out another note from the guardianship, which VerAngola had access.
