The information was provided by António José Figueira, administrative assistant at ST-News, the company that owns the project. Quoted by Angop, he made it known that national and Brazilian technicians have already started the first phase of equipment assembly.
Under construction on a perimeter of 200 hectares, the future manufacturing unit could start operating as early as October.
In terms of jobs, the forecast points to the creation of 2000 direct positions.
It should be noted that, in the first phase, the aforementioned manufacturing unit will operate with a furnace capable of producing 250 tons of pig iron annually, as well as conveyor belts and coal silos, writes Angop.
