Launched in 2014, with just one banking agent and three service stations, the bank currently has 433 agents and 686 stations distributed in an accessible manner across all provinces of the country.
Luanda leads with 137 posts, followed by Huambo with 107 and Benguela with 61, these being the provinces with the largest number of posts at the moment.
This expansion allows the service to be present in 124 municipalities in the country, and in eight provinces — Cuanza Sul, Cunene, Luanda, Lunda Sul, Moxico, Namibe, Zaire and Benguela — there is coverage in all municipalities, which reinforces the commitment of the bank with financial inclusion and proximity to customers.
"The evolution in the number of transactions, which went from 791 in 2014 to more than 6 million in 2024, reflects the growing demand for banking services across the country. This increase emphasizes the need to continue offering financial solutions that are safe and efficient As we expand our reach, it is essential that the service responds in an innovative way to the expectations of our customers, and is capable of generating inclusion and ensuring sustainability for the future", highlighted BAI's executive director, José Castilho Manuel.
BAI Banking Agent's 10th anniversary was celebrated in a ceremony held in Luanda with the in-person participation of more than 100 agents, and also in virtual mode, with another 300 agents, who met to discuss opportunities to expand and strengthen the service.
During the event, the oldest and best performing agents and the most outstanding employees were recognized, in a tribute to the merit and dedication of those who have contributed to BAI's growth and the strengthening of its bank agent network.
