According to the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Affairs and Press, Luís Fernando, the working day will last a few hours and will also include a meeting with the local government.
"The President of the Republic is actually working, this Monday, for a few hours, in the province of Bengo, where he begins the day with a meeting to assess the general state of the territory", informed Luís Fernando, quoted by RNA.
After finishing the meeting, João Lourenço will proceed with the "inauguration of infrastructures aimed at resolving the population's housing challenges and health care for citizens", added the person in charge.
According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the meeting with the local government took place this Monday morning. Presided over by João Lourenço, the meeting served to assess the situation in the province, in all its areas.
On the occasion, "the provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, presented a detailed report on the territory's achievements and needs and those responsible for the different areas of the State's Central Administration (ministers and secretaries of State) respond to the concerns raised".
"The electrification of vast areas of the province that still do not have this service is one of the most important points on the table. The state of land connections as well", says the statement, which adds: "The need for more schools and means to improve mobility (public transport) were aspects also covered with great acuity".
In addition to the meeting, the President's program also includes the inauguration of the new Bengo General Hospital. According to Angop, the new hospital unit – located in Bucula – has 200 beds, a hemodialysis center, among others. Its capabilities will also include various services, such as general medicine, pediatrics and surgery.
The inauguration of the first phase of the Caxito Centrality is also on the President's agenda. This housing project, which is also located in Bucula and has the first 500 T3 apartments already completed for delivery, will have a total of 1000 houses (946 apartments, 30 houses and 72 stores).
According to Angop, the agenda also includes a visit to the region's Economic Potentials Fair, with João Lourenço returning to the capital this Monday.
