"Last month, we received a delegation from a French agency that wants to finance coffee production in Cuanza Norte (Quiculungo and Bolongongo) and four other municipalities in Uíge and two others in Cuanza Sul", he said, speaking to Rádio National of Angola (RNA).
António Uatica considered that if this financing goes ahead it will be "a positive advertisement for coffee production".
"This financing, if implemented, will be a real eye-catcher, a positive advertisement for coffee production", he indicated.
Considering that "coffee has value", the person responsible informed that they currently have "over 250 identified coffee growers", adding that the price of coffee, which has been around 450 to 500 kwanzas, is seen as an inventive factor for production.
"Coffee has value. At that time, we have over 250 identified coffee growers. The last information we received from the agriculture department pointed to 17 tons," said the person in charge, who, in statements to RNA, added: "We are already seeing some people from younger age also dedicate themselves to coffee culture. This year, coffee was sold per kilo for between 450 and 500 kwanzas, this price already serves as an incentive for people who were still in doubt whether the coffee is worth it or not because it was previously sold if a kilo of coffee costs 250 kwanzas (...)".
