Sporting de Cabinda withdraws from Girabola for financial reasons

Sporting de Cabinda, whose footballers have not been paid for 21 months, announced this Tuesday the withdrawal of Girabola, for financial reasons, according to the club's president, Bartolomeu Manuel.

The club leader said that many appeals have been made over the last few months for the government of the province of Cabinda and local companies to support the team, but without success, so there is no other alternative.

Last week, the players threatened to strike and stopped work for four days during the week, due to the lack of payment of their fees.

In the national football championship, Sporting de Cabinda is third, with 13 points.
