Country spent 1.1 billion dollars on fuel imports in the third quarter of this year

About 1.1 billion dollars was the amount the country spent in the third quarter of this year on fuel imports.

Data from the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute (IRDP) indicate that, in this period, 1,271,986 metric tons of fuel were purchased for sale, of which 69 percent were imported, at an expense of 1.102 million dollars, and the remaining 31 percent from the Luanda Refinery (30 percent) and Topping in Cabinda – Cabgoc (1 percent).

According to the IRDP, quoted by Angop, these figures thus point to an increase of around 21 percent over the previous quarter.

In terms of lubricants, around 8,981.93 metric tons were sold on the domestic market, of which 1,508 metric tons corresponded to national production and 7,474 to imports.

Thus, according to the regulator, this figure translates into a drop of around two percent compared to the previous quarter, writes Angop.

According to the IRDP, quoted by Angop, at the end of the period in question there were 911 service stations operating, reflecting an increase of around 11 more than in the previous quarter.

From the list of stations, 338 are controlled by Sonangol, 78 by Pumangol, 58 by Sonangalp, 48 by TotalEnergies and the remaining 389 with white label.

The figures also indicate that the general sales volume of the different parts of the market increased by around two percent compared to the previous period, to around 1,151,821.73 metric tons.

In addition, according to the regulator, the state oil company leads the market share with around 65 percent. 'Silver' belongs to Pumangol (20 percent), followed by Sonangalp (eight percent) and Total (seven percent).

As for gaseous fuel, 94,592 metric tons of LPG were placed on the market, 90 percent of which came from Angola LNG and the remaining 10 percent from the Luanda Refinery (six percent) and Topping in Cabinda (four percent), writes to Angop.

In this fraction – whose sales totaled 114,655 metric tons, corresponding to an increase of around two percent compared to the previous quarter – Sonangol is also the leader with a market share of around 79.2 percent. On the podium are Saigás and Progás with 10.9 percent and 4.4 percent, respectively.

In terms of gas consumption, the capital led with 59.8 percent, followed by Benguela, Huíla, Huambo and Cabinda, with 10.1 percent, 5.9 percent, 3.8 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
