According to the official, quoted by Angop, the contract to expand the project will be completed in June 2023.

Once the Luachimo Hydroelectric Project (located in Lunda Norte province) is ready, it will be able to produce 34 megawatts against the current eight megawatts.

It is recalled that works on the dam started in 2017, in a project budgeted at around 160 million dollars, writes Angop.

In addition to the Luachimo Hydroelectric Project, the company is also responsible for the contract for the Caculo Cabaça Hydroelectric Project.

Located in the province of Cuanza Norte, this project is scheduled for completion in October 2026 and is budgeted at 4.5 billion dollars, writes Angop.

The works for Caculo Cabaça and Luachimo are in charge of the China Gezhouba Group Corporation and Niara Holding consortium.
