The health sector and the entire social sector are an absolute priority for the Government of Angola and it is therefore intended that this emphasis and this level of priority remains outstanding," he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Speaking at a roundtable on financing the health sector, the finance minister made it clear that the health sector is a priority: "Health is a priority, we want to continue to put at the service of citizens not only tertiary but also primary health care and we want the service to be the best possible".

She added that they also want these infrastructures to have a "quality service".

"But we also want these infrastructures, once created, once made available to the citizens, to work with a good service, a quality service, motivated professionals, so the objective was to debate which ways to ensure that the health infrastructures remain impeccable as on the day we inaugurated them, that equipment and materials are available without a citizen having to supply what should be the offer of the health service and now study ways and look a little at the experience understanding how it works in other geographies so that the entire National Health System is financially sustainable", she said, quoted by RNA.

At the event, the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, said that the budget devoted to health has been growing, but, according to the RNA, it is still insufficient to respond to the challenges.

"In percentage terms we went from four to just over six percent, we are seeing an increase here and we believe that over the five-year period these values will also increase", she informed.

Regarding the increase in the budget for the health sector to respond to the challenges, Vera Daves informed that the economy will have to assume itself as "stronger". "That is our objective, for that to happen the country has to grow more, the economy has to be stronger, we have to have more tax revenue. the health sector", she said, quoted by RNA.
