According to the specialist of the National Police's Institutional Communication and Press Directorate, Venâncio Vicente, between the 5th and 11th of this month, 940 suspects of various crimes were detained. In the same period, 66 firearms of different calibers were seized.
"The Angolan National Police carried out micro operations throughout the national territory that resulted in the arrest of the alleged perpetrators of the following crimes: robberies (148), thefts (243), homicides (22), serious and simple offenses to physical integrity (164) , sexual attacks (39)", informed Venâncio Vicente.
With regard to migratory surveillance, the National Police took action at the sea and land borders that resulted in the arrest of 1421 citizens, of which 1217 were from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, including 82 children.
Venâncio Vicente noted that 183 nationals were also arrested for illegal fishing, trafficking in immigrants and smuggling of fuel and undeclared goods.

Angola recorded 60 deaths and 271 injuries from a total of 263 accidents, of which 78 in Luanda province, announced the National Police in the assessment of the country's public security situation.
