Passport with extended validity and inclusion of biometric data from December

Less bureaucracy, greater validity and inclusion of users' biometric data in passports are some of the new rules that are provided for in the new Angolan passport law, which was published in Diário da República last month.

According to Expansão, the law takes effect 60 days after its official publication in the Diário da República, which took place in October. So, done the math, the new rules come into action in December.

Regarding the validity of the passport, this will be extended in all categories of the document.

In the case of the ordinary passport, used by most of the population, the validity will be 15 years for people over 30 years old and 10 years for citizens under 30 years old.

Diplomatic and service passports will be valid for five years instead of the current three.
