CPLP recognizes Angola's “development and progress” in 46 years of independence

The executive secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) recognizes the "development and progress achieved by the Angolan people during the 46 years of independence", which are marked this Thursday, in a greeting letter sent to President João Lourenço.

:

"I am very pleased, on behalf of the CPLP Executive Secretariat, to congratulate Your Excellency and the Angolan people on the celebration of the anniversary of independence", which marks this Thursday, wrote Zacarias da Costa, in the letter to which Lusa had access.

The CPLP official also expresses the conviction that "the resilience and determination of the Angolan authorities will allow (...) the continuous economic and social development [of the country], in an environment of peace".

The "same commitment and dynamism" of Angola in exercising the presidency of the CPLP, which began in July and will last for two years, "will reinforce the effective growth" of the Community and the "strengthening of cooperation ties between Member States in all domains," adds Zacarias da Costa.

Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor are the nine member states of the CPLP, which this year celebrated its 25th anniversary.
