Covid-19: 233 recovered and 28 new cases announced

The numbers this Wednesday, made public by the health authorities, announce the recovery of 233 patients, with 28 new cases of covid-19 registered in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 17 are male and 11 are female, aged between three and 59 years. Of the total of 28 new cases to be registered, 18 were diagnosed in Luanda, six in Benguela, and one in Cuanza Sul, Moxico, Huambo and Uíge.

With regard to those recovered, the vast majority reside in Cuanza Norte (53), with 44 recovered in Zaire, 36 in Huambo, 27 in Uíge, 23 in Luanda, 21 in Cunene, 18 in Malanje, six in Benguela and five in Kwanza Sul.

Health authorities announced that in the last 24 hours a total of 1868 samples were processed by RT-PCR, with a positivity rate of 1.5 percent.

Since the start of the pandemic, Angola has registered 64,968 confirmed cases of covid-19, of which 441 are still active. Of these, four are in critical condition, four are severe, 14 are moderate, 18 are mild and 401 are asymptomatic.

40 patients are hospitalized in the treatment centers, with 80 people in institutional quarantine and 93 contacts of positive cases maintain epidemiological surveillance.
