Exhibition “As if the World Had No Demarcation”

:

The Critics and Curatorship Laboratory and Galeria Movart present the collective exhibition "As if the world had no demarcation", to be inaugurated on November 25, at 18:00, at Galeria Movart, located on the Marginal de Luanda.

The exhibition's title is inspired by the work of Angolan writer, filmmaker and anthropologist Ruy Duarte de Carvalho - "As if the world had no east" - and brings together eight Angolan artists, who will present works of painting, photography, installation and sculpture.

The exhibition analyzes the principle of alterity in contrast to the centralization and the different forms of exclusion and annulment of the other, looking at the idea of "disciplinarization of the body", in Michel Foucault's thought, which generate functional demarcations capable of creating structures rigidities in human relationships. The exhibition also explores how contexts of submission and control are brought about.

From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, the gallery will visit works by artists Mwamby Wassaki, Denise Luís, Imani Silva, Nefwani Junior, Benigno Tengo, Ainid Clélia, Uolofe and Eliane Lima.
