According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the government official, who spoke at the opening of the 5th Ordinary Session of the National Water Council, stressed that "only in the Cambambe region, the Kwanza River constitutes a watercourse with a total extension of 131 .43 kilometres, while the Lucala River is a watercourse, flowing from north to south, a tributary of the Cuanza River and one of the main components of the Cuanza basin, it has a total length of 83.25 kilometers."

He also referred to the Cambambe Hydroelectric Plant, where the meeting took place, and the Caculo Cabaça Hydroelectric Plant, which is currently under construction.

"The Cambambe Dam and the resources that involve it constitute important economic advantages for the municipality, for the province and for the region, which can and should continue to exploit the existing hydrological potential in a sustainable way," he defended, cited in the note.
