According to the newspaper O País, the amount earmarked for the rehabilitation of the current Palácio da Música and Teatro de Luanda is included in the Public Investment Programme.
Budgeted at 85 million dollars, the work will also have an inspection contract worth around 3,390,000 dollars.
According to the same newspaper, the finance minister has permission to guarantee the availability of the necessary means to implement the contracts, while the minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment is responsible for sub-delegating and verifying the admissibility of all actions taken.
In addition to the expenditure for the rehabilitation of the former National Assembly, the head of state also approved an expenditure of more than six million dollars for works on the headquarters of the National Electoral Commission and the National Scrutiny Center.
