According to SIC spokesperson, criminal investigation superintendent Manuel Halaiwa, the drug was seized between 2020 and the current year, resulting in a total of 257 criminal cases, with the arrest of several citizens for drug trafficking, with some already convicted with effective prison terms and others awaiting trial.
The quantities of drugs mentioned above were incinerated on Monday by an industrial waste treatment company, in the presence of officials from the Public Ministry, the SIC and experts from the criminal laboratory.
A press release released by SIC on the matter underlines that the investigating body "is strongly committed to the fight against drug trafficking", because in addition to the social harm it causes to families, it is also an influencer for the commission of various crimes.
"Hence, the action of the SIC will be relentless against all those who insist on these practices", emphasizes the note.
