Hypertension and heart problems have already forced the artist to undergo surgery, in 2017, and the use of a 'pacemaker', a device that regulates the heartbeat. However, the musician's clinical situation would have worsened in recent months, even leading to an internment between April and August of this year, at the Sagrada Esperança Clinic, in Luanda.

The information of Jacinto Tchipa's death was confirmed to Angop by a familiar source.

The musician, born in Caála, province of Huambo, began his artistic career in 1973, recording his first album, still on vinyl, entitled "África". Three more albums followed in the same format, titled "A Cartinha de Saudades", "Sissi Ola" and "Reconstrução Nacional".

He became famous in the national market after the release of these albums, in the 80's, having won twice in a row the Top dos Mais Queridos, in 1986 and 1987.

Later, in the 2000s, he released two more albums, this time in CD format, entitled "Os Meus Sucessos" and "África".
