According to a presidential decree, cited by Novo Jornal, the program is aimed at young people between the ages of 18 and 25, however, citizens between the ages of 25 and 30 who have completed, in the last year, a level 2, 3 or 4 professional training course will also be able to enjoy the program.
The regulation defines that if young people are integrated in micro, small and medium enterprises the State finances 90 percent of the internship. In the case of non-profit organizations, the grant is financed at 100 percent. However, for young people belonging to disadvantaged social groups, whether disabled or female, the grant is fully financed, even if they are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, thus promoting the integration of young people with these conditions in the labor market.
Large companies should include this type of program in their social responsibility policy, indicates the regulation.
The scholarships to be awarded will vary according to the trainee's level of training. The regulation defines that 1.5 minimum wages are determined in the sector of activity of the company where the internship is held for holders of level 2 and 3 professional training courses and with qualifications below the 12th year of schooling. On the other hand, those with technical-vocational education qualifications or level 4 training courses are entitled to two minimum wages. For young people with baccalaureate or degree the value is 2,5 minimum wages.
The training courses can last between three and six months, with possibility of prorogation of the period until six months.
At the end of the internship, it is issued a certificate with the evaluation of the internship which is delivered to the trainee.
