Country announces another 164 cases and two deaths by covid-19

The country registered this Monday 164 new cases of covid-19 and two deaths, adding 13,615 infections and 324 deaths, announced the health authorities.

The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, indicated that 70 infections were registered in Benguela, 40 in Luanda, 22 in Cunene, 13 in Cabinda, seven in Kwanza Sul, five in Huambo and one in Namibe.

Of the new cases, 112 are male and 54 are female, aged between 3 and 69 years.

Regarding the deaths, the two deaths, one male and one female, aged 37 and 70, were registered in Luanda province and Huambo.

In addition, 76 patients were recovered.

Since March, when the impact of the pandemic in the country began, the country counts 13,615 positive cases, 324 deaths, 6523 recovered and 6768 active cases.

The laboratories have processed in the last 24 hours 2573 samples, of which 164 were positive, pointing the cumulative to 195,549 samples processed to date.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused over 1.3 million deaths worldwide since December last year, including 3472 in Portugal.

In Africa, there are 47,378 confirmed deaths in more than 1.9 million infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent pandemic statistics on that continent.

Angola has 324 deaths and 13,615 cases, followed by Mozambique (116 deaths and 14,514 cases), Cape Verde (103 deaths and 9822 cases), Equatorial Guinea (85 deaths and 5104 cases), Guinea-Bissau (43 deaths and 2421 cases) and São Tomé and Príncipe (16 deaths and 963 cases).
