Covid-19: Angola announces another 193 new cases, three dead and 252 recovered

The country has registered, in the last 24 hours, three deaths due to covid-19 and 193 new infections, now totaling 289 deaths and 11,228 cases, the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, announced this Monday.

:

The new infections were registered in Kwanza Norte (61), Luanda (52), Malanje (42), Huíla (25), Uíge (5), Namibe (4), Moxico (3), and Cabinda (1) and are relative to 127 males and 66 females, aged 2 to 71 years.

In the last two days, the laboratory diagnostic center in Viana has given priority to processing samples outside Luanda, which justifies the high numbers recorded in these provinces, explained Franco Mufinda.

There were three more deaths related to the disease, three men, 29, 61 and 66 years old, all from Luanda, and 252 people recovered.

The total number of cases amounts to 11,228, of which 289 died, 5172 recovered, and 5767 were active, with 18 patients in critical condition with invasive mechanical ventilation and 31 severe.

In the last 24 hours 2562 samples were processed in an accumulation of 161,929 tests.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused more than 1.2 million deaths worldwide since December last year, including 2590 in Portugal.

In Africa, there are 43,176 confirmed deaths in more than 1.7 million infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent statistics about the pandemic in that continent.
