According to a statement from the provincial government of Zaire, to which VerAngola had access, the act of consignment and laying of the first stone took place last Wednesday, in an event attended by the governor of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.
The construction company Memangola will be responsible for the project, which is financed by Angola LNG, within the scope of its social responsibilities.
"The work (...) is being carried out by the construction company Memangola and will feature 12 classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, workshops and an auditorium with capacity for 130 seats, in addition to a multi-sports court with bleachers", reads the note.
On the occasion, the provincial governor highlighted the "gains that the municipality of Nzeto and the province of Zaire will have with the construction of this school infrastructure".
The executive director of Angola LNG, Amilton Cunha, said that the future school represents "a concrete investment in the future" of the communities.
"This school represents a concrete investment in the future of our communities, part of our broader mission to empower local populations through education and economic opportunities," he said, quoted in the note.
The act was also attended by the vice-governor for the Technical Sector and Infrastructure of Zaire, Ângela Diogo, representatives of the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels, the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, as well as the main shareholders of Angola LNG, says the statement.
