On the occasion, the head of the Education portfolio said that "Angolan teachers will be trained by Namibian specialists to teach the English language, within the framework of a memorandum of understanding to be signed between the two countries, to support the process of including this language in the Angolan primary education", says a government statement, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the minister, the memorandum is expected to "be completed" by the end of this year.
Quoted in the note, Luísa Grilo highlighted that Namibia is available for teacher training: "Namibia is open for teacher training, so that the transformation of education can be enhanced, with a view to a more resilient education system".
The head of the Education portfolio also made it known that the Vice-President of the Republic "encouraged the creation of work teams to approach the teaching of culture and art, referring to the existence of many Angolan children attending schools in Namibia".
"In turn, the Namibian minister reinforced that culture and art are important aspects that promote employment and contribute to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the respective countries, and guaranteed the creation of a technical team to monitor and materialize the projects addressed", reads the statement.
The hearing took place on Wednesday and served for the parties to talk about cooperation in the education sector between the two countries.
