BCI and Lueji A'nkonde University come together to award scholarships

A memorandum of understanding that establishes the granting of scholarships to the best students at Lueji A'nkonde University (ULAN) was signed, this Thursday, between the educational institution and the Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCI). This agreement, which is part of the ‘BCI Excellence Scholarships’ program, aims to provide support to students with better academic performances in Law and Economics courses.

The president of the BIC Board of Directors (PCA), Pedro Luís da Fonseca, and the rector of ULAN, Alfredo Manuel, were the signatories of the memorandum.

According to the BCI PCA, the objective of this initiative is to promote academic quality in the country's universities, in order to prepare students to face the challenges of national development.

Quoted by Angop, he added that 200 scholarships will be made available per year for public and private higher education institutions in the country, in Economics, Law, Agronomy and Medicine courses.

The rector of ULAN praised the bank's initiative, highlighting that it will motivate students to make more effort to achieve excellence, as well as mentioning that the bank's help will reduce the financial problems that students face come across throughout training and encourage scientific research.

On the occasion, he also took the opportunity to encourage students, especially those experiencing economic difficulties due to the lack of a source of income, to take advantage of the program, writes Angop.
