This system, according to the governor, is old, dating back to colonial times, and is "quite degraded, which is why it only works around 30 percent".
Considering that "water is life", Mara Quiosa asked João Lourenço so that they could resume the aforementioned project: "We would like to tell the President of the Republic that water is life and ask that, in fact, we can resume this project", she said, quoted by Angop.
On the occasion, the governor also asked the president to resolve the flooding problem in the province, and argued that the implementation of the flood control project in Cuanza Sul is of an emergency nature.
At the meeting, according to a statement from the municipal administration of Sumbe, to which VerAngola had access, Mara Quiosa gave a detailed x-ray on the general situation of the province, highlighting the "problems of the capital city, such as the need for more Higher Education institutions, having highlighted the attention to be given to the ISP Cuanza Sul, which needs a new infrastructure to the detriment of the current one which is in degradation, the need for housing for families in risk areas, the rehabilitation of the 17 de Setembro Hospital, the resolution of floods in neighborhoods of Sumbe, the desilting of the Cambongo River, as well as the need for a master plan for Sumbe, among other problems that affect the province".
Also for this Tuesday, other activities were scheduled, such as a visit to the Various Products Exhibition Fair and the integrated infrastructures in the municipality of Sumbe.
It is recalled that the head of state traveled to Cuanza Sul this Monday, the day marked by the inauguration of the province's General Hospital.
