When speaking, the minister highlighted that the promotion of financial education strengthens confidence in the market, reducing the possibility of fraud or bad decisions in the future, in addition to empowering new investors. She also stated that training in this area promotes economic independence, while also consolidating communities and reducing inequalities, opening the doors to opportunities for growth and innovation.
The minister also referred to the Financial Inclusion Strategy, which has been promoted by the Government, which in her view could include more and more citizens in the financial system, ensuring access to credit, insurance and other products.
"In a young and constantly evolving continent like ours, where the needs and challenges are so diverse, it is vital that governments, financial institutions, educators, Non-Governmental Organizations and every citizen join forces to ensure that financial education reaches all segments of the population", she stated.
For the minister, understanding basic financial concepts, access to tools and technologies that simplify financial management, and promoting a culture of savings and investment are essential steps towards creating a more prosperous future.
Vera Daves highlighted that, for the third time, the Capital Markets Commission has been invited to coordinate the activities of the SMI, at the level of the African continent, which shows a clear sign of confidence in the work that Angola has been developing.
