During his work trip, the diplomat headed a multi-sector delegation that worked in Namibe, with a view to creating partnerships in various sectors.
During his visit to the province, Patrick Nandago held a courtesy meeting with the deputy governor for Technical Services and Infrastructure, Ema Samali da Silva, on which occasion he highlighted "the historical relations between the two countries" and considered "Angola as a strategic partner in the economic and social development of the region", according to a statement from the provincial government of Namibe, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the ambassador, Namibia wants to strengthen cooperation in sectors such as trade, security, tourism, among others.
"Namibia seeks to strengthen cooperation in the areas of trade, security, transport, energy and tourism. We want to learn from Angola's experience of the southern corridor so that we can implement it in the Walvis Bay corridor", he said.
Composed of "senior officials from the Embassy in Angola and the Ministries of Industry and Foreign Affairs of Namibia", the Namibian delegation has scheduled a meeting with the Port Company of Namibe on its agenda, to present the Integrated Project of Moçâmedes Bay, as well as a visit to the Moçâmedes Railway.
In turn, Ema Samali da Silva said that this is opening "a new phase in the historical relations between the two countries, which share a history and can now strengthen economic relations", the note reads.
He added: "The cooperation relationship between the Ports of Namibe and Walvis Bay is fundamental to strengthening the economic relationship between Angola and Namibia, they will not compete, they will complement each other".
