Italian high-tech wants cooperation in maritime surveillance, space and cyberspace

An Italian company, more specifically the Leonardo S.P.A group, wants to expand cooperation with Angola in the sectors of maritime, space and cyber-space surveillance, said the president of what is considered one of the largest high-tech industrialists in the world, Stefano Ponte Corvo.

"Angola is strategically important, because Angola is the country with the largest number of helicopters sold by our company", said Stefano Ponte Corvo, in statements to the press, after an audience with João Lourenço, held this Wednesday, at the Presidential Palace, in Luanda.

On the occasion, the president of the group, "who is visiting Angola for the first time, highlighted the quality of Angolan staff with mastery of high technologies", according to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access.

Stefano Ponte Corvo said that in "the last 15 or more years" of cooperation with Angola, they discovered that the country has "many talents": "In the last 15 or more years of intense cooperation with Angola, we discovered that this country, Angola in this case, has many important talents developed in the areas of industry, education and science, who master high technologies".

The group operates in the "aerospace, defense, security, automation, transportation and energy, and has Angola as an important historical partner", points out the statement, which adds that the company is a "trusted technological partner of governments, defense agencies, institutions and companies, and participates in the main international strategic programs".
