Speaking on the sidelines of a visit by the municipal administrator, António Mussumari, to the site to inspect the works, cited by Angop, the director also explained that, in the initial phase, the undertaking was part of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities, however, at the moment, it is included in the financing of the oil differential.

On the occasion, Antonio Mussumari stated that once completed, this unit will improve the quality of medical services provided locally, whose assistance is, at the moment, guaranteed by health posts.

The municipal administrator, cited by Angop, also said that, at the moment, inhabitants need to travel more than 70 kilometers to receive medical care at Dundo, a scenario that will be reversed with the completion of the future hospital.

The project began in 2021 and, once completed, the unit will have 100 beds. Its services also include services such as medical clinic, gynecology, obstetrics and pediatrics, as well as a surgical center and morgue with 20 drawers.
