"The quality of our performance is reflected in the solidity of public finances, and this depends on three fundamental pillars: in-depth knowledge of the matters in which we operate, unwavering ethics and integrity, and an exemplary work culture", said the Minister of Finance, at the central event of the 2024 Finance Week.
Quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Finance, to which VerAngola had access, the minister also highlighted "the issues related to the collection of tax revenues, with emphasis on the Value Added Tax (VAT) which is now five years since its entry into force".
On the occasion, the Minister of Finance also made an appeal to her employees to view the Public Finance Week "as a reason for inspiration and to redouble their efforts, in order to honour the legacy of their predecessors and to contribute, with passion and integrity, to the construction of a fairer and more prosperous Angola".
The 2024 Finance Week has as its motto 'The Role of Human Capital and Processes for the Sustainability of Public Finances and Financial Resilience'.
The Ministry also states that, on 3 October 1901, "the Directorate of Finance and Accounting Services was created, through an ordinance of the Ministry of Finance and Overseas Territories, with its headquarters in Lisbon, Portugal, published in the Official Gazette, simultaneously in Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Macau and São Tomé and Príncipe".
