More than 140 thousand jobs created between January and September this year

The Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security, Pedro Filipe, announced that between January and September this year approximately 141 thousand jobs were created, both direct and indirect.

:

"From January to September, we registered a total of 141 thousand jobs created in our economy and we are only focusing on the formal sector", said the person in charge, when speaking this Tuesday in the eighth edition of the Briefing with journalists.

The creation of these jobs, said the person in charge, took place in the areas of commerce, service provision, civil construction, agriculture, etc.

Considering that the unemployment rate, situated at around 30 percent, is "still worrying", the Secretary of State for Labor and Social Security made it known that the objective is to bring the rate down to 25 percent, until 2027, having recently approved the National Employment Agenda.

"The National Employment Agenda has an ambitious goal: to reduce the unemployment rate by at least 25 percent over the next four years", said the person in charge.

"We want to go from the current 30 to 25 percent, at least, in the next four years", he reinforced, adding that this "will imply a mobilization of all living forces (...), strengthening the employment market governance system, stimulating the economy to generate employment, but above all putting into operation what should be the main financial instrument to enable policies to promote employment, which is the National Employment Fund", approved in May this year.

Among other indicators, in his intervention, Pedro Felipe also highlighted some factors regarding social security. In this area, he said that "unfortunately" there are still many companies that do not comply with payments to the National Social Security Institute (INSS), adding that currently 366 companies are already in a regularized situation and 208 have already requested to be regularized.

The eighth edition of the briefing was held by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS), in the auditorium of the Press Center of the Presidency of the Republic of Angola (CIPRA).

It should be remembered that the Council of Ministers recently approved the National Agenda for Employment, which "establishes the guidelines for the coordinated action of different actors, whether public or private, in the field of promoting employment".
