João Lourenço present at the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Guinea-Bissau's independence

The Guinean President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, announced that his counterparts João Lourenço and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will, among others, be guests at the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the country's independence, on November 16th.

Umaro Sissoco Embaló noted that, in addition to the President and Prime Minister of Portugal, other countries also expressed their intention to send delegations, such as China and Korea.

"Many Presidents will come, namely from Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, Gambia, Angola, Cape Verde. It is the celebration of 50 years" of independence, highlighted the Guinean head of state.

"There is the possibility of one or another European head of state coming here, but as you know, we have logistics problems, we have few hotels. We are doing engineering", so that the leaders of countries close to Guinea-Bissau arrive in Bissau in the same day of festivities, Embalo noted.

The Guinean President said that the leaders of countries such as Angola, Portugal, Gabon and South Africa will not be able to arrive and depart from Bissau on the same day, so, he said, they will spend the night in the Guinean capital.

The Guinean President gave these instructions on the sidelines of his visit to the works on Avenida Amílcar Cabral, which connects the Palace of the Republic, in the center of Bissau, to the commercial port, where the festivities marking 50 years of Guinea's independence will take place. Bissau.
