"For convenience of service, the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, dismissed today [Wednesday] Gilson dos Santos Antunes Carmelino, from the position of vice-governor of the province of Luanda for the Economic Sector", informs the Presidency of the Republic, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
According to the statement, in another decree, the head of state "removed Anica Josina Pascoal de Sousa, from the position of deputy governor of the province of Namibe for the Political, Social and Economic Sector".
To replace the dismissed vice-governors, João Lourenço appointed Jorge Miguêns Augusto as vice-governor of the province of Luanda for the Economic Sector, and Abel do Rosário Kapitango as vice-governor of the province of Namibe for the Political, Social and Economic Sector.
João Lourenço also appointed Franco Cazembe Mufinda to the position of deputy governor of the province of Malanje for the Political, Social and Economic Sector.
PR receives parliamentary leader from Guinea-Bissau
The day of the President of the Republic was also marked by a meeting with the parliamentary leader of Guinea-Bissau. According to another note from the Presidency, to which VerAngola had access, João Lourenço received late afternoon/early evening on Wednesday, in Luanda, the President of the National Popular Assembly (Parliament) of Guinea-Bissau, Domingos Simões Pereira.
"The Guinean politician is in Angola participating in the 147th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which runs until next Friday in Luanda", the note said.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, "Domingos Simões Pereira praised the excellent relations between the two countries and peoples".
