According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the dinner took place after the opening ceremony of the assembly.
"After the formal opening ceremony of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which took place on the Marginal de Luanda, the delegations that were in the Angolan capital to liven up the event's debates went to Cidade Alta to participate in a dinner hosted by the presidential couple", reads up in the note.
The night was marked by several moments, ranging from the reception of guests to dinner, moments of dancing, as well as "giving gifts (dikanza) to those present".
According to Angop, on the occasion, parliamentarians enjoyed performances by Africanita, Lulas da Paixão, Tony do Fumo Filho and guitarist Texas. The band Nguami Maka also took to the stage, with the singer, according to Angop, offering gifts to the presidential couple, in a gesture that was extended to all those involved in the assembly.
The 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union runs until Friday, in the capital, under the motto "Parliamentary Action for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions".
