The Vice-President, whose trip to Cape Verde is scheduled for this Tuesday, is part of the Honor Committee for the event, which will take place between Wednesday and Friday, on the Island of São Vicente (Cape Verde).
"The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, travels this Tuesday [17/10/2023] to the Republic of Cape Verde, where, on behalf of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, she participates in the 1st International Congress on Science, Innovation and Development in Lusofonia, taking place from the 18th to the 20th of October this year, on the Island of São Vicente, Mindelo", informs the Vice-Presidency, in a statement, to which VerAngola had access.
According to the statement, in addition to Esperança da Costa, the congress' Honor Committee also includes the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Pereira Neves, the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, José Ulisses Correia e Silva, as well as "senior responsible for higher education institutions in Portuguese-speaking countries".
The first intervention by the Vice-President of the Republic will take place at the opening of the event, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, writes Angop.
The event, according to the vice-presidency's statement, will serve to address "The paths towards quality scientific research in Lusofonia, promoting dialogue between universities, political power and companies", as well as "Science, technology and innovation in Portuguese-speaking countries: challenges and opportunities in the 21st century".
The event is aimed at "researchers, academics, decision makers, university students and postgraduates from all Portuguese-speaking countries, who work in their countries or in the diaspora", adds the statement.
