Serbia interested in investing in Moxico’s agricultural potential

Serbia was interested in investing in Moxico's agricultural potential. The intention was expressed, this Monday, by Milos Perisic, Serbian ambassador to Angola, during a visit to the aforementioned province.

According to a statement from the Provincial Government of Moxico, to which VerAngola had access, the diplomat said that Serbia "wants to develop relations between the province of Moxico and the provinces of its country", as well as "present business opportunities to entrepreneurs and Serbian investors".

On the occasion, Milos Perisic also highlighted that his country "intends to cooperate in the production and processing of cereals, such as wheat, corn and soybeans, which are strategic crops for food security", the note reads.

The person responsible, according to Angop, also spoke about a visit, next month, by businesspeople and experts from his country to Moxico, aiming to exchange experiences with local producers.

In turn, the vice-governor of Moxico for the political, social and economic sector, Victor da Silva, "when presenting the province's potential", stated that Moxico has "arable land and fertile soils, rich in flora and fauna", being "open for investments, having thus invited Serbian businesspeople to invest in Angola and Moxico, specifically", adds the statement from the provincial government.

On Monday, according to the statement, the diplomat paid a visit to the "cornmeal factory located at km 30, south of the city of Luena", the Lumege River water catchment and the Agrarian Development Institute, "where learned about ongoing projects in the area of agriculture, expressing, on the occasion, his interest in working in agricultural production and participating in the National Promotion Plan for Grain Production – Planagrão".

According to another note from the Moxico government, to which VerAngola had access, the ambassador began a three-day working visit to that province on Monday.

"The objective of the visit is to strengthen ties of cooperation and friendship, as well as exploring investment and development opportunities in various sectors", explains the provincial government.
