Cited by Angop, Adriano Manuel Canelas, manager of the farm, said that within the next few days they hope to receive a group from the DRC to sign an agreement in this area.

"We hope to receive, in the coming days, a group of counterparts from the locality of Boma for the formal signing of the cereal export agreement", informed the official, who was speaking this Wednesday as part of a visit by the governor of the province of Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, to the farm.

According to Angop, the farm expects to harvest around 200 tons of cereals in the current agricultural season.

Regarding the conjectured production for the current season, the manager of the enterprise indicated that it mirrors the double of the previous campaign, as a result of having started to operate the mechanical irrigation system in the cultivation areas, writes Angop.

Adriano Manuel Canelas also informed that they had prepared 50 hectares for planting corn, soy, onion, tomato, cabbage, cabbage, pepper, among others, adding that 36 employees guarantee the production.

He also made it known that in the current campaign they are experimenting with planting rice on two hectares, and the fruits of this experience could lead to large-scale production, writes Angop.

As for the feasibility of this project, the official expressed confidence, taking into account the favorable local conditions and added that the project benefited from two billion kwanzas, financed by the Development Bank of Angola (BDA).

The farm, which is located in the municipality of Pedra do Feitiço, Soyo, province of Zaire, has a total of 2000 hectares of land, of which 1000 are reserved for agriculture and the remaining 1000 for livestock.
