The welcome was made by the governor of Luanda province, Manuel Homem, in a ceremony marked by the intervention of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, and the Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote.

"The national football team for amputees knew how to dignify the name of Angola", considered the minister, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

On the occasion, the holder of the Youth and Sports portfolio also highlighted that sportsmen "are and will continue to be our champions".

Dalva Ringote, speaking at the act on behalf of the President, João Lourenço, mentioned the Government's satisfaction with the "magnificent" result of the national team that "exceeds unimaginable limits".

Also quoted by Jornal de Angola, the minister said that "the protection and inclusion of people with disabilities is a matter of relevant political concern for the Executive, having achieved important results of a programmatic nature, especially in the legal, institutional, economic and social domains, with a view to the creation of better conditions".

It is recalled that the national team was in second place in the world, after having lost in the final against Turkey on Sunday.
